NSK Micro Precision Co., LTD. Fujisawa plant, located on naturally blessed ground of Shonan, contributes to a hi-tech field through the miniature ball bearings of the super high quality and the unit products which utilize the precision technology of miniature ball bearings. In addition, we perform our operation with the principal objective of "harmony with natural environments" to preserve natural environments for following generation.

Achieved Chlorine-Free for All Products

On our environmental activity in 2004, we have worked on the total abolition of the plastic tape and changed to the product substitute of the chlorine-based processing oil. As the result, we have achieved chlorine-free for all products in 2004.

Achieved Zero-Emission

As a result of having promoted activity toward the zero-emission (quantity of inning disposal is less than 1% of the total discharge ) for this one year, we have achieved it on March, 2005. As a manufacturer of miniature ball bearings, we had been discharging various wastes by a small quantity and had a hard time sorting and transporting them. We collaborated with NSK Ltd. Fujisawa Plant to resolve the problem. Especially we have cooperated on the joint transportation of abolished filters, whetstone and fluorescent tube, those of which are discharged wastes from grinding process and were conventionally difficult to recycle, and are working on the achievement of recycle rate of 98%.

Contribution to a Local Community

We participate in the cleaning activity of Shonan Coast from 2002. This event is held on the last Sunday of May every year and we continually participate in this event for a contribution to a local community.

NSK Micro Precision Co., LTD. Matsukawa Plant, located on the southern part of Nagano and blessed with the rich natural environment, produces miniature ball bearings of mainly less than 10mm outer diameter. In order to preserve this natural environment for following generations, we aim at contributing to environmental safeguard through the production of environmental friendly products.

Established a New Recycling Center for Appropriate Waste Management

We abolished a usage of organic solvent (dichloromethane), of which was conventionally used as cleaning fluid and replaced it to environmental friendly alternatives. In addition, we have been positively working on the energy saving by improving the control of the air compressor / power station. Upon the current increasing demand, we push forward the improvement of the energy efficiency by collecting the production facility and cycle time. Moreover, for appropriate waste management of the waste, we founded a temporary safekeeping place of the waste. We named it as "recycling center" not "a disposal yard" from a point of view that if reused effectively, the waste can be called resources. We aim at the improvement of the recycling rate while performing frequent communication with the waste disposal treatment supplier about the shape of a convenient safekeeping container and a method of disposal waste method.

Improving the Environmental Awareness of the Employee through ISO14001 Certification Acquisition.

We have built an environmental management system to develop these activities continuously and acquired the certification of ISO14001 in April, 2004. When developing environmental activities, it is essential to raise an awareness of the whole employee. In addition to the reduction of paper / garbage / the electricity, improvement of the quality and the productivity that we had aimed conventionally from the start could be understood as a contribution to an environmental safeguard. From a comparison of the consciousness investigation that we carried out in last July and this March, we acknowledged that interest for the environment of many employees has been rising. In this community, there are many groups where the interests for environmental activity are high including Iida-shi sponsoring an environmental self-governing body meeting. We will exchange information with those communities lively and will consider enlarging the activity territory as the one of our future actions for environmental safeguard.
